I often require a building to anchor my photographs within the greater, and perhaps more important, context of light and weather. This is an otherwise mundane scene of a self storage garage nestled between someone's backyard and the two lane highway I was traveling on. In any other conditions I would not photograph it, but one must be open to serepdpity. I was working post-haste after passing through a violent rural Alabama rain storm. The sky formed to create this photograph which juxtaposes the mundane and the extraordinary. Capturing the accuracy of colors was vital to this scene and it was photographed using Fuji Velvia film.

The Wall

The lush meadow around the Wall is undisturbed. and whatever remained of this wall, if anything, sunk back into the earth long ago. It is difficult to attribute this picture any facts other than to comment on its monumentality. It is a depiction of the resolute and unusual, the natural and man-made; the rare nobility of the plainspoken.
